I’ll often include two log lines for two different scripts, depending on where I’ve found the listing and what I think they might like. Some movie makers want a unique script, while others prefer to have examples of successful movies.
I’ve actually seen some zany/creative/off-the-wall query letters work, so if that’s the sort of screenplay you’ve written and that’s the sort of personality you have, don’t shy away from that sort of query letter. You’re trying to get the person who reads your query letter to request the full script.
It Should be written in the present tense and to write this, you have to answer the question, what the script is all about? Keep it simple.While many screenwriters make the mistake of being “Hi” and “Hello” are good openers.

The producer might be from the same area of the country as you and might have heard of the improv group (you never know) or they might have done a bit of improv themselves back in the day and really respect the talent and dedication it takes to be an active member of an improv group.Use whatever credits you have no matter how small they might be.
Ah, the query letter.
I feel like this will separate me from the pack a bit since many people don’t have any writing credits.If you don’t have any credits you can list whatever credentials you have that are pertinent to the script you’re pitching. A lighter tone is observed, for not to make it boring. However, you can make changes. An answering envelop is also sent with it. It needs to be short, sweet and compelling, enticing its reader to simply have to read that screenplay. Avoid that at all costs.Open with a brief sentence introducing yourself and why you are contacting them.

Screenplay query letters do not have to be as long or detailed as article, fiction or nonfiction queries. Do your research, feel free to take some shots in the dark, and just keep getting your concepts out there. A “successful” query letter is a query letter that got somebody (hopefully you!)
