This is a truly beautiful movie. This film kept my attention from beginning to end. Rufus Sewell, who often plays villains, is excellent as the love of her life. She also survived being accused of witchcraft and interrogated by the Inquisitiont, in the film once, in real life twice! She is far too independent and intelligent to settle for being a wife.
