You are invited to attend the Office of Global Services F-1 Post-Completion Optional Practical Training (OPT) Info Session to learn about the benefit and application process. Post-Completion OPT Reporting To maintain F-1 status during OPT comply with U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) employment and reporting requirements. DHS requires students to report all changes of address and periods of employment and unemployment while authorized for OPT. As exceeding unemployment limits can result in a loss of status, we are reminding F-1 aliens participating in post-completion Optional Practical Training (OPT), and their designated school officials (DSOs), that they must update the employer information in the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS), including unemployment data. Students authorized to participate in post-completion OPT must work full-time, more than 20 hours a week. OPT is authorized by United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). While you are on post-completion OPT, you cannot be unemployed for more than 90 days. Sign up here!
